About Us

Santiago House is privately owned and cared for by our family. Based in London, we have long had a close connection to Weymouth and Portland, drawn by the sailing, the coastline and the distinctive character of the harbour.

Much of our time here has been spent on the water, and the area has played an important part in our family life over the years. Although our children are now grown, we continue to return regularly and remain closely involved with the local community.

Santiago House reflects the standards we value when travelling ourselves — a well-located, comfortable home maintained with care and attention, offering guests an easy and enjoyable stay in one of Weymouth’s most desirable settings.

Why we chose Weymouth

With a young family, we were looking for somewhere within easy reach of London where we could enjoy some sea air and simply unwind. Weymouth fitted the bill perfectly. It was the first house we looked at, and we both instantly fell in love, buying it just before the 2012 Olympics. The whole area was buzzing with excitement, and we happily got swept up in the atmosphere. It takes us around two and a half hours from North London, door to door. When the house is free, we just pack up the car and go.

Family and friends started staying at Santiago House, and before long, we began renting it to guests. It became so popular that we sometimes found it hard to find time for ourselves there.

One of the things that continues to surprise us is the food scene. Dorset excels in fantastic cuisine, and we keep discovering new places that serve fresh local produce cooked to perfection. Whenever the pace of life in London becomes too much, we look forward to escaping to Weymouth, where the sea breeze and coastal charm instantly wash away everyday stress.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found such a special place.
